Dana S. Durrett is Of Counsel in the firm’s Healthcare Practice, where he focuses his practice on regulatory, compliance, administrative and transactional matters. Mr. Durrett has practiced healthcare law for nearly 15 years, and has represented a broad array of providers and healthcare companies.  His clients include hospitals, physician practices, ambulatory surgery centers, nursing homes, assisted living facilities and multiple healthcare companies, ranging from portable x-ray suppliers to device manufacturers.

In particular, Mr. Durrett has experience in mergers and acquisitions, audits, Certificate of Need applications and appeals, internal investigations, state licensing and professional boards, administrative appeals and healthcare operations. He has defended providers against False Claims Act matters and healthcare audits undertaken by the State of Georgia, Recovery Audit Contractors, Care Management Organizations or private insurers. In addition, Mr. Durrett regularly advises healthcare providers regarding HIPAA, billing and coding and other regulatory compliance matters.

  • Represent clients in Medicare enrollment, recoupment, surveying and certification;
  • Counsel to national and regional hospital and long-term care providers in administrative appeals, licensure sanction actions, Certificate of Need, licensure, and Medicare/Medicaid enrollment;
  • Counsel to regional portable x-ray and IDTF entities in regulatory, compliance, and healthcare transactions.
