Biography
Ross Schell was born and raised in Eastman, Georgia. After earning a B.S. in Political Science at Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Georgia, Ross attended Walter F. George School of Law, Mercer University. After graduation from law school in 1995, he opened a General Civil Practice Firm in Eastman, Georgia where he also served as the Municipal Court Judge for the cities of Eastman, McRae and Milan, Georgia, as well as a Special Assistant Attorney General for the Georgia Department of Human Resources, Office of Child Support/Recovery in the Oconee Judicial Circuit. In 1999, he relocated his practice to Macon where he joined a small firm which specialized in residential real estate closings. In 2002, Ross joined the Macon law firm of Martin Snow LLP where he became a Partner in the firm’s real estate department in 2006. He joined James-Bates-Brannan-Groover-LLP in 2012.
Ross’ practice is primarily devoted to real estate law, including contract negotiation and drafting; lender representation, loan document review and preparation; title examination and title insurance; and drafting of closing documents. He performs real estate closings including commercial, agricultural, forest and recreational property, including large multi-state timberland transactions.
Ross and his wife, Rachael, also a graduate of Walter F. George School of Law, Mercer University, were married in October of 1996 and have two daughters, Holland and Harper, who both attend Stratford Academy in Macon. The family attends Vineville United Methodist Church.
