Biography

Jeff Rutledge was born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and grew up and finished high school in Columbus, Georgia. After earning a B.A. in both history and political science at Mercer University (Macon, Georgia), Jeff attended Mississippi College School of Law in Jackson, Mississippi. Jeff graduated from Mississippi College in 1997, and then served as law clerk for the Honorable Judges Douglas Pullen and William Smith of the Chattahoochee Superior Court Circuit. Jeff was previously an associate with James Bates for three (3) years before leaving to join SunTrust Bank as Senior Vice President and Manager of the Private Wealth Management Department for the Middle Georgia area, and subsequently as a Senior Vice President of Investments for Wachovia Securities where he was fully licensed to advise clients regarding their financial, investment and life insurance needs.

Jeff now primarily advises clients regarding their tax, estate and retirement planning needs, their business succession planning needs and their probate and estate administration needs. In addition, Jeff has counseled clients concerning their financial planning goals and objectives, as well as the formation and structure of corporate entities and the purchase and sale of those entities and/or the assets they own. Jeff is also experienced in the formation of non-profit entities, and the application by those entities to the IRS for tax-exempt status.

Jeff and his wife, Tracy, were married in July of 1994 and have two girls, Emily and Caroline, and twin boys, Thomas and Will. The family attends Ingleside Baptist Church where they are actively involved in the children’s ministry.
