Blake Ogden focuses his practice on commercial litigation, transactional matters and government work. He also handles a range of real estate issues, such as quiet title actions and negotiations on commercial leases.

In addition to helping public agencies with political issues and litigation, Blake advises on property matters, such as condemnations and acquisitions for local governing entities and for the state of Georgia and its Department of Transportation. He particularly enjoys helping people resolve their problems and pursue projects that produce tangible enhancements to the community.

Blake listens carefully to those he represents and discusses their issues in depth before identifying multiple ways to potentially address problems. This approach allows clients to choose a unique, tailored solution that best fits their priorities, which may include timeliness and relationship and reputation preservation.

With excellent researching skills, Blake enjoys delving into litigation issues, unearthing relevant facts, and producing clear, insightful briefs and other analyses. He ensures cases stay on track and clients are aware of and meeting all relevant deadlines.

In his practice, Blake draws on valuable previous experience. Following law school, he clerked for Justice Blackwell on the Georgia Supreme Court. Prior to joining James Bates, Blake concentrated on civil litigation as an associate for an Athens law firm.

After Hours

Blake likes spending time with his wife and their three children, especially doing outdoor activities. He enjoys traveling, hiking and cheering on the University of Georgia Bulldogs.
